KARL MAYER and ILLIES welcome world-leading textile industrialists to exclusive customer event in Vietnam

A genuine handshake matters – particularly with regard to customer loyalty and especially in times where we are constantly connected by technology; it has so much more value than any text message limited to characters. Thus, KARL MAYER and ILLIES welcomed world-leading textile industrialists and investors of Vietnam’s textile industry to a joint exclusive customer event in Ho Chi Minh City on 11 October 2019, in order to honor their customer’s loyalty and the strong partnerships mutually established in Vietnam along the way. 90 participants and customers from 13 countries, among them Korea, Taiwan, P.R. China and obviously Vietnam, accepted the invitation.

Growing into important and trusted partners of the Vietnamese textile industry

Both companies have closely accompanied the country’s development into the world’s third-largest exporter of yarns and clothing; growing into important and trusted partners of the Vietnamese textile industry. A process that already began in the 1950s, when ILLIES opened its first representation in Saigon and KARL MAYER manufactured the first direct warping machine, as well as the first Raschel machine; marking the beginning of its rise to global market leadership in warp-knitting, weaving preparation, and technical textiles.

In the 90s and 2000s, the activities were characterized by relationships to local, state-owned companies, when private small-to-medium enterprises successively started to invest. Ten years later foreign investors - mainly from Korea and Taiwan - expanded the customer base. Today, the value of foreign direct investments in the country’s textile industry exceeds 18 billion US dollars. Within Vietnamese territory, KARL MAYER counts more than 1,100 machine installations at over 100 customers. Consequently, ILLIES Engineering Vietnam became the only partner of Vietnam’s Textile Industry offering solutions and equipment for the complete textile chain - with a team of 65 highly trained employees working in the field of machine sales, after-sales and mechanical and electric repair services. Together with their customers, ILLIES and KARL MAYER raised a glass to celebrate these successes and to enjoy an event among long-standing business partners and friends.
