60 years in Korea – our affiliate company KIECO celebrates anniversary

Our affiliate company in South Korea KIECO (KOREA ILLIES ENGINEERING CO., LTD) celebrates its 60th anniversary in December 2017.

Over the years, KIECO has grown into a reliable partner for many local, but also for international companies. During this period of time, the company has been able to actively contribute to the amazing growth of the South Korean economy.

Today, KIECO employs more than 30 specialists in Seoul and enjoys the reputation of being an established German company in South Korea. We are involved in many exciting projects not only in Korea but throughout Asia. The span of activity is wide – high technology equipment from Europe in the field of textile, automobile, chemical & pharmaceutical, paper & film, electronics, just to name a few, or tailor-made solutions for Korean customers overseas – KIECO experts accept any challenge successfully.

We congratulate our colleagues and wish them further much success and prosperity!

Instead of having a big celebration party, the team of KIECO has made a donation of about € 10.000 to the ChildFund Korea. The donation goes particularly to orphan children, raised by their grandparents, and thus have limited opportunities to enjoy a good education.

History note:

ILLIES set up its branch office in South Korea in November 1957, shortly after the Korean war. Among the many German firms that C. ILLIES & Co. represented in this market, MAN and its medium-sized diesel generators were one of the most important business segments during the early years in Korea as the country engaged in post-war reconstruction.
